I apologize for the delay. I wasn’t notified of the message. Mine was the Curry with the dot. I loved the piece but eventually I felt I needed something different. Found my home in the DW American Classic. Great observations, thanks for reading!

Was it the 3C. (i.e. 3C dot). I’ve been using one for the past couple of years and find it has a great full sound. I switched to it from a Bach 3C because it has a flatter rim and a little more weight so seems to give more core. Have you tried lead on your new 3C Wick AC? That’s an area where I use my old (pre-fire) Warburton 5M with a no. 7 backbore because I get more sizzle, more stamina and a fuller easier sound in the high register. It gives a little less fullness in the middle and down below, but the sound is still acceptable unlike that of true high note pieces like the Shew lead or Wick screamer which I find too thin, though some make them work through all ranges.
